Start to finish metalwork and repaint on this Jaguar XK140

Hello everyone and welcome back, This Jaguar XK140 OTS or more commonly referred to as a Roadster came to us as a rolling shell completely stripped out in desperate need of a bare metal repaint from Red to British Racing Green, or preferably a darker version of the Jaguar BRG formula. There were a lot of repairs after having been heavily hit in the left hand front corner more than once in its former life so we had to cut away the rear half of the left front wing and remove the bulkhead strengthener and also repair the main bulkhead. A lot of hours went into making it straight including a few aluminium repairs to the boot/ bonnet and both doors, all the corners needing weld adding so we could get sharper corners and perfect panel gaps. For final finish paint finish the client wanted it to look like an older cellulose paint job and not appear as a brand new restoration. After various samples adding matting agent to a direct gloss formula we finally came up with something the customer was happy with. . . . .
