Today, inside the United States, NAS is much more popular than not, and is the largest additive-free brand by far, and is currently produced in North Carolina by the Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company, a subsidiary of RJR. Outside of the United States, however, the nameplate is produced by Japan Tobacco, who purchased the international rights to the brand in 2015 for $5 billion dollars.
