Welcome to Nakhon Ratchasima — or as everyone calls it, Korat. In today’s travel vlog, I take you on a walking tour through the centre of one of Thailand’s biggest and most underrated cities. From the historic Ya Mo statue to the Platu Chumphon Gate and a temple built inside a cave (with cats!), I explore Korat on foot and try to figure out why this city isn’t on every traveller’s radar. You’ll see old city walls, quirky street art, fountains, a peaceful lake, and even a temple built entirely out of rocks. It’s not flashy, but it’s real — and very local. I also talk a bit about Korat’s history, the legend of its lucky city gate, and the famous Korat cats, which apparently bring luck to newlyweds and royalty. No B-roll, no script — just me, a camera, and far too much sarcasm. If you’re looking for a budget backpacker’s view of Thailand beyond the beaches, this is it. I am an older backpacker travelling the world proving that backpacking is not just for the younger generation.
