The main idea is - we need to convert each of the terms of the algebraic expression into smaller quantities/terms each of which should represent the area of small rectangle or square. Finally, we need to re-arrange the smaller areas geometrically to form a larger shape which should look like a rectangle. And then express the area of the rectangle: Length x Breadth. In some cases, it could look like a square if the given algebraic expression is a perfect square quantity.
