Lineouts are one of the best platforms to launch an attack and score a try straight off the first phase. In this video, we dive into the art of strike moves and how to exploit defensive seams—those weak connections in the defensive line. One of the most targeted areas is the gap between the lineout and the first defender, often the fly-half (10), or directly attacking the 10 themselves. However, teams are evolving their defensive setups to counter this strategy, making it harder to capitalize on these spaces. We explore how teams are adapting by: Positioning the scrum-half (9) in the 5m channel. Moving the hooker into the traditional 9 position at the back of the lineout. Forming a stronger three-man defensive connection around the 10 with the 7, hooker, and fly-half. These adjustments are designed to disrupt the attacking team's rhythm, eliminate space, and contest the first ruck more effectively. Join us as we break down these defensive tactics and discuss how they’re reshaping modern lineout strategy! 👉 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more rugby insights! #RugbyLineouts #StrikeMoves #RugbyAnalysis
