As I walked through the streets, I was surrounded by light and shadow, by smiles and quiet sighs— and I realized that all of it is life itself. C’est la vie. When I first met Baba-san— I had never sung with a live band before. He smiled and said to me: “Airly, you should sing like a showgirl, just like in a Marilyn Monroe movie.” From that moment, he created and produced many wonderful songs for me, each filled with warmth and magic. For more than ten years, until the day he went to heaven, he kept playing guitar for me, always supporting me with his sound and his heart. Even during times when he wasn’t feeling well, he would say, “It’s so fun to be on stage!” And as the music began, his face would light up with joy and sparkle with life. Now, when I play music and sing with musicians in France, I can do it happily and without fear— because Baba-san taught me the true joy of music, and the beautiful connection that goes beyond words.
