Easily one of my new favorite hikes. Amazing Fall hike or Summer hike Nested in the majestic North Cascades this lake is perfect day hike. As I mentioned in the video, the main trailhead is closed due to avalanche debris. However we ran into another hiker that circumvented the 2 avalanches and continued on the hike. The lake is cold but not as cold as I expected. It was certainly welcomed after huffing 6 miles though the wilderness in the heat. Mosquitos were relentless but we kept them at bay with the bug spray. Incredibly beautiful, streams, mountain, meadows and lake. I would still call this a family friendly hike because the elevation was spread out over 5-6 miles.
