South Africa Now | 26 March 2026 In today’s update, severe weather, road incidents, wildlife sightings and scenic views are captured from across the country. In Gauteng, flooding is reported in Soweto following heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across Johannesburg South. Traffic is also affected with slow-moving vehicles along the N3 north of Johannesburg. In Limpopo, a bakkie is reported overturned on the N1 near Mookgopong. In KwaZulu-Natal, a vehicle is overturned on Joyner Road in Isipingo, while coastal and nature highlights include sunrise in Durban, beach and ocean scenes near Margate Pier, and hippos spotted at night in St Lucia. In the Eastern Cape, a hailstorm is experienced in Winterstrand, while beach views are captured from Nahoon Beach in East London. In the Western Cape, a variety of scenic and lifestyle moments are featured, including a sunrise in Albertinia, coastal views from Boulders Beach, Stilbaai and Fish Hoek, and a drive through Hermanus. A SAPS helicopter is also seen flying over Fish Hoek, while visitors enjoy a boat cruise from the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and cultural views from the Rupert Museum in Stellenbosch. In Mpumalanga, wildlife sightings include elephants and other animals at Sabi Sands Game Reserve, along with a Giant Kingfisher spotted in the Kruger National Park. In the Northern Cape, farming life is captured with sheep grazing in Calvinia, while additional scenic views include the Gariep Dam along the Free State border.
