We’re exploring the history of this proud monastery, which stands proudly on the edge of a deep gorge, was home to roughly 1,000 monks during the 11th century. Then, we’re heading to Areni, a small village known for producing wine for over 6,000 years. We’re heading to the village’s annual Areni Wine Festival to try wines from around the country, dive into the local cuisine, and enjoy music and dance performances. From the churches and graveyards of Noravank Monastery to a cave winery known as the oldest winery in the world, Areni is an incredible mix of history and food, and we’re exploring it all right now.
