Hello! I’m Stealthy, welcome to my channel. Here, I share my journeys exploring Singapore on an Anywheel bike. Singapore is a small island, but you’d be surprised by how many interesting places you can find and the many surprises along the way. I hope through these videos, I can bring you along and explore together with me in the comfort of your own home! History of the Rail Corridor: The Singapore Rail Corridor is a 26km stretch that once facilitated train travel from the Malaysian Peninsula to Singapore for nearly a century. This uninterrupted corridor spans the entire island of Singapore from Woodlands in the north to Tanjong Pagar in the south. In 2011, the Malaysian government-owned railway company, Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), ceased its operations, transferring the railway land back to the Government of Singapore. The government is now considering transforming this land into a green space for recreation and non-vehicular commuting. Covering around 173.7 hectares—three times the size of the Botanical Gardens—the rail corridor has remained somewhat isolated from the city, with limited connectivity to the surrounding urban environment and its residents. My Journey: It is a super hot day. I'm not sure how I convinced myself to go out. But anyway. I began my journey at the Bukit Timah Food Centre, I didn't eat lunch so I got a Nyonya Rice Dumpling for $4.50 in case I get hungry along the way. After that, I cycled all the way north along the Rail Corridor, passed by the Pang Sua River, which I think is one of the more beautiful canals in Singapore. Finally, I reached a dead end in Kranji near an industrial estate. I turned back towards the Pang Sua River, and found a nice place to settle down to enjoy my dumpling, where I found some interesting artworks made by the local residents for the upcoming National Day 2024 :) I hope you enjoyed the video, and the scenery along the way! I'll be doing more of these adventures in the future, subscribe if you want to follow along! See you in the next video :) Timestamps: 00:00 - Bukit Timah Food Centre 03:35 - Pick up my Anywheel bike 09:45 - Rail Corridor 22:57 - 9 Mile Platform (Infographics) 24:41 - Continue after water break 27:02 - Diverted route (construction in progress) 29:42 - Re-enter rail corridor 33:10 - Scorched path 36:26 - Water break 38:05 - Continue along Pang Sua river 47:51 - Park bike to catch a view of the river 55:44 - Continue towards Kranji 01:00:38 - Final stretch 01:05:48 - Dead end 01:08:38 - Backtrack 01:11:17 - Park my bike 01:12:42 - National Day artwork 01:00:38 - Eat my dumpling #singapore #cycling #anywheel #actioncamera #dji #gopro #camera #peaceful #nature #hobby #heritage #sg #virtualcycling #adventure
