My name is Xanthe. I am over 50 and have been exploring makeup on a low income. I only own 2 liquid foundations and I decided today that one wasn't doing the hyperpigmentation any favours. The hyperpigmentation on my face is such that my face looks way more tan than my neck and chest area. Has been worse in the past. Turns out the one which matches my neck and chest area best is the L'Oreal True Match foundation in 3.5N neutral peach. The 4N beige is too dark and greyish. I had been mixing them and adding a touch of green colour corrector to reduce red to get a closer match to my skin tone. However, this might also have been not improving hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation was worse in pregnancy and on hormonal contraception. I try to avoid the Sun and I wear a moisturiser with SPF daily, now. I own only 2 colour correctors: green and deep peach. In a way, they do opposing things. So trying to match for 'olive' has not helped the hyperpigmentation. The deep peach is different to my base complexion but it helps to neutralise the darker areas (which are blue-based). They sort of work in opposite ways. I decided today to wear just the 3.5N foundation with the peach colour corrector for darkest part of dark undereye circles and darkest parts of the hyperpigmentation. I used no green and no 4N foundation. 3.5N was my closest match during the winter. It's now summer and at first I wondered if it was a bit light but I think I am just used to seeing my face having brown patches. I've applied makeup sparingly in this video. I think my complexion looks brighter. I also added a touch of brown bronzer to my neck and chest area to match, as there is a significant difference between my face and neck and chest, mainly because of the hyperpigmentation. I actually think the neutral peach undertone has brightened my complexion.
