Thinking of going to Spitzkoppe in Namibia? Want to do a self drive camping trip (4x4 camping, to be precise)? Perfect, you're on the right track and we recommend you go for it. It is as epic as you'd imagine. Amazing camping, climbing, - the campsites are spacious, and the stargazing is absolutely the best we've ever seen in our entire lives. We think we'll have to go back for that reason alone. Make sure you book slightly in advance, and you'll want to show up around noon if you want your pick of the campsites, because people start driving in around 3-4 to set up their tents or rooftop camp tents to catch the sunset and have dinner. Affordability: definitely. All of the campsites were priced at $12 when we visited in February of 2019. Food: You'll want to bring your own. There is a little restaurant at the entrance, but people we talked to recommended against it. Besides, you're camping, so bring a little stove, gas burner, and grill up some meat.
