Welcome to Shanghai! | World Class 2024

Assembling in Shanghai from all over the world, our Global Finalists spent their first day getting to know each other! 🤝 First, the bartenders and judges enjoyed lunch together before a traditional feng shui ceremony and a visit to the Tingtai Teahouse, a traditional Chinese teahouse with a modern aesthetic, located in the city’s art district. Learning all about tea from the experts, they selected their favourite varieties before returning to The W Shanghai - our home for the week - to tackle their first challenge! In Seeding with Seedlip, the finalists had 15 minutes to create a cocktail using a surprise selection of local ingredients. The scores from our judges have determined the competitor groupings - which bar they’ll compete on, and in what order. To close their first day in Shanghai, a Ketel One welcome drink with Bob Nolet and a guest shift from our host for World Class Shanghai - Cross Yu. Phew! It was an action-packed day, and we’re just getting started.
