This is the most special song I've ever had the privilege of writing. I wrote this in May 2024 with Devin Dawson and Kyle Clark from the perspective of my oldest son, Jameson, who recently turned 4. I posted a video the day after writing the song that went viral, which couldn't have come at a less convenient time because my wife and I were days away from welcoming our youngest son, Lane, into the world. Rather than urgently recording the song just to release it during a viral wave, we decided to push it out until the time was right. I knew I wanted the release to coincide with Father's Day, so here we are a year later. This song has already had quite the journey to get to this point, but the journey is really only starting today. I appreciate everyone's patience through the process. Consider this my Father's Day gift to you. I hope this song means as much to you as it does to me! When we were planning the music video, all I knew was that I wanted to incorporate some home videos of my family. If you know me, you know how much I love being the behind the camera. I've been creating home videos since Jameson was born in 2021, and I was tickled to have so many included in the final cut. We shot this video in the comfort of our home, which significantly contributed to the overall vibe of this video. Jamie came up to me unannounced while we were shooting the performance and Tyler was able to capture some really candid moments of him while I was singing. Took everything in me to hold it all together while the cameras were rolling lol.
