HOW TO REPLACE AN OUTSIDE TAP: You need to turn off the water supply to the outside tap first using an isolation valve (if you have one) or at the main stopcock as I did in this video. PTFE TAPE - I typically use around 15 wraps of PTFE tape when fitting an outside tap, but you might need a lot more if the tap doesn't line up straight. In this video I needed 30 wraps as the tap didn't line up properly when I only had 15 wraps on the first time I tried. If it ever doesn't line up straight, keep adding more PTFE tape and trying again. You can clean any excess PTFE tape off the tap after it's fitted with a Stanley knife blade. TAP CONNECTOR: The brass hose connector I fitted is a quick-connect one as the old ones that come with outside taps are rubbish. You can push a plastic or brass hose connector straight onto it to use a hose.
