"It’s not just the packaging. It’s what’s inside." - Saawan Logan Joining us in today’s session I have a very special guest, @Saawan Logan, who shares the story most companies don’t like to talk about, and that is of how plastic waste, microtoxins, and misguided industry priorities are quietly sabotaging wellness, and what hotels can do to change that. When Saawan returned home to Fiji and discovered her family could no longer eat the fish they grew up on because of plastic contamination, she knew the wellness industry needed a wake-up call. That wake-up call became North Water: Canada’s glacial, mineral-rich water served in reusable, plastic-free bottles. But her mission goes far beyond hydration. It’s a challenge to hotels and hospitality leaders to re-examine what they offer guests, what they stand for, and what sustainability really means. In this session, we talk about: → Why real wellness starts with what guests put into their bodies, and why hydration should be treated as more than a basic amenity. → How the most luxurious properties are failing the sustainability test, and what smaller, boutique brands are doing better. → What it takes to drive change in a resistant industry, and how to stand firm when it feels easier to just follow the trend. This conversation isn’t just about water. It’s about the kind of industry we want to build, and the kind of leaders we choose to be.
