This week we take shelter from February’s harsh weather, and shift our focus to the interior of our abandoned stone farmhouse to pick up renovation work inside the ruin. With plans to welcome guests later this year, we begin reorganising key spaces and making practical improvements. We start by upgrading the bathroom and relocating the compost toilet, making life on-site more comfortable. Then, we turn our attention to the future main bedroom, carefully removing old render to assess the condition of the original stone walls. This is an exciting step toward restoring the house while preserving its character. Our journey is all about transforming an old farmstead in Portugal, one project at a time.
