SONG DESCRIPTION: A typical "Gay Nineties" ballad, dripping with sentiment. The midnight express is stopped on a storm-shaken trestle, with a red light in front and the track washed out, but little Nell reassures the passengers. Adapted from the true story of Kate Shelley, an Iowa trackman's daughter, who crawled precariously across a wobbly railroad bridge on a dark stormy night in 1881 to save the midnight express. Ripped from the 1998 Rockhaven release.
