Assam SIT Probe: Govt To Make Report On Gaurav Gogoi's Alleged Pak Link Public | India Today News

The Assam government has received a Special Investigation Team (SIT) report on the alleged Pakistan links of Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated the report contains “damaging and damning revelation” and that the government will release a gist of it to the public. The SIT was formed to investigate the activities of a Pakistani national, Ali Tauqeer Shaikh, and his alleged links to Gogoi's wife, Elizabeth. The Chief Minister said the aim is to "make people aware of the actual character of the Congress leader." While Gaurav Gogoi has previously dismissed the charges as laughable, the government's move to make the report's findings public signals an escalation in the political conflict.
