Welcome to Cornea Colours, aiming to simplify complex corneal surgeries with key insights, from basics to advanced techniques. Learn, grow, and excel with us This video demonstrates on how to perform Partial thickness compression sutures in a case of hydrops Key points are as follows : 1. Optimal Needle Orientation: Needle should be perpendicular to the corneal surface and DM tear 2. Sutures should be placed at the junction of the edematous and clear cornea 3. Descemet’s Membrane (DM) should not be touched at all 4. Sutures should be placed sequentially, first at the lateral extents followed by the central area to ensure proper alignment and tension. 5. Customize the length, number, and orientation (horizontal or vertical) of sutures based on the size and direction of the DM tear observed. 6. Do not enter the AC at any point during surgery 7. Revision of loosened sutures might be needed due to intraoperative resolution of corneal oedema 8. Knots of sutures should be trimmed short and buried in the superficial stroma away from the visual axis 9. Confirm wound watertightness with a merocel sponge 10. BCL to be placed post-surgery to enhance healing Happy learning to all of you !! Disclaimer: This video is meant for the education of eye specialist. The treatment should be done by ophthalmologist based on own clinical judgment.
