MD • The Death and Return of Superman - Mega Dr... Why another video about The Death and Return of Superman, there must be at least 6 comparisons, and 20 longplays, in 2160p nonetheless. This is intended to fix the older one ( • The Death and Return of Superman | Mega Dr... ) with hopefully tighter gameplay and better sync, and simply because I have a lot of affection for this game. Though not without flaws as it tends to be quite repetitive, it is easily one of the better Superman titles and stylistically resembles Batman Returns for SNES (something pointed out by the GamePro review, issue 61, August 1994). Also, it's one of those games I really played to death as a child. Pure nostalgia. The two versions are pretty much the same game with the expected differences in resolution and colour palette (except the story screens, for some reason the MD has the same 256x224 aspect with SNES) but the biggest difference is the soundtrack. The MD version was released almost half a year later after SNES (Sept 1994 - Jan 1995) and for some reason it didn't feature re-arranged versions of the original tracks, but completely new music. Which version sounds better is subjective, but I think the music of the SNES is more fitting and atmospheric. Mobygames https://www.mobygames.com/game/7384/t...
