The details of the model configuration are online at https://www.fluidnumerics.com/researc... The snapshots show results from a 2km resolution simulation and a downscaling run at 1km resolution. We show the kinetic energy (top left), sea-surface height (top right), temperature (lower left), and salinity (lower right). Each frame is a daily snapshot, and we show the ocean state at depths of 500m, 750m, and 1000m in succession. The 2km simulation is a production run that is generated using HYCOM ocean boundary conditions and ECMWF ERA atmospheric conditions for the year 2003. The production run begins after 1 year of model spinup. The 1km simulation is a work-in-progress production run and currently only simulates February 2003 - December 2003. New production simulation results are in progress that are being generated from a second annual cycle of the simulation.
