In February 2016, Gear4guides, along with International Peace Park Expeditions, travelled with Faction athletes Sam Anthamatten and Arnaud Rougier to explore a cross border section of the Peaks Balkan Trail. Part of one of the newest National Parks in the world, the area, shared by Kosovo and Montenegro, has a troubled past but the communities are now working together towards a positive future. The group travelled to donate equipment and educate local mountains groups in skills and safety to enable them to develop sustainable winter tourism opportunities for the remote mountain communities in this area of outstanding natural beauty.
