A deadly medical controversy is unfolding across Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, where the deaths of eleven children have been linked to an allegedly contaminated cough syrup. Nine children died in Madhya Pradesh's Chindwara district and two in Rajasthan from kidney failure after consuming a cough syrup containing dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Dozens more have been hospitalized.
