The Sathanas and Colossus finally have a face off! This has been sitting around on my hard drive for a while. Also I apologise for it being a bit choppy, I don't know why it turned out like that and I did try recording it twice, so... This is actually a very simple mission. If you neglected to destroy some of the Sathanas juggernaut's main beam cannons, then you will be tasked to take them out now. You should do so, because even one BFRed (the in-game name for the Sathanas' largest beams - take a guess on what it stands for!) can be a threat to the Colossus. There's only one wing of hostile fighters you need to worry about, Cancer wing of four Basilisks. They come in two waves, and can be a nuisance if you're trying to take out the beam cannons, but otherwise they're pretty much immaterial to the battle at hand. After you've taken Cancer wing down and destroyed all beam cannons, there's really nothing else you can do but sit back and watch. Although, feel free to embed some Helios torpedoes into the Sathanas' hull. Beams do not count towards kill scoring by default, so if you took out all the beams in the previous mission, lob at least one torpedo into the Sathanas and you'll get the kill for it and a nice increase to your score (unless one of your wingmen damages it more). If you were playing this in the original version, you would have to avoid issuing an ignore order on the Sathanas otherwise the Colossus would not attack it. This is no longer the case in FreeSpace 2 Open, so tell your wingmen to ignore it with impunity. The beams used by the Colossus in this mission are "overcharged" versions of its normal beams, hence why they're worring about all the heat they're producing. Don't worry about it taking too long - the Colossus can only be destroyed by the Sathanas. This happens even if the Sathanas had no beams to start with, funnily enough.
