This is an older Philips tv, model 42PFL7403H/10. The issue is the transformer or the PCB, because the transformer burned through the PCB on one of its legs. There's many thing that could have been the issue but in my case all I had to do was make a new connection from the transformer leg to one of the sodder points that it connected to via the copper trace - I used a piece of thicker wire for this. WARNING: Fixing electronics like this can give you a (deadly) shock if you don't know what you're doing, so caution is advised or contact a professional to fix your electronics. IMPORTANT: This TV blinks red 2 times if you only connect the power plug to it, when you connect a tv signal to it it will work as it should. Well at least that is how it worked in my case so I was a bit confused when I fixed it and the TV didn't turn on with only the power plug connected.
