Host: Good Morning, are you pumped out now? Dr. J: Yeah, well I’m pumped up, yeah, let’s go. Host: Alright, well we’re just gonna actually naturally with our own fat. Why is our fat from our own body the best filler? Dr. J: Well, fat makes a really perfect filler because it looks and feels natural because it is natural. And it doesn’t have a chance for rejection, and one of the great things about fat is once the fat grafts in it’s permanent. So it’s not like Juvederm that you get 6 to 9 months and then you have to do it again, but when you do fat you get that benefit from now on. Host: This is something that is probably one of your most common procedures. Typically, where are you putting that fat in your patients? Dr. J: Well the first place that fat transfer really became popular was in the face, and we can put it in especially you know around the cheeks or lips or eyes, and it can make a real difference. One of the neat things about fat transfer is we’ll take a picture of the person when they’re about 18 – 20, and we use that as their model. So, we’re working to restore a youthful you and not a younger looking someone else. So, you don’t look drawn , you don’t look like you’ve been pulled, you don’t look like someone else. You look like you when you were younger and fresher. Host: You know and the women that come to you appreciate that. Because that’s what you wanna look like. You don’t wanna look like you had something done. And this is how we’re gonna do it. Where do you most typically put that fat? Dr. J: Probably the fastest growing area is the breast, where we do natural breast augmentation. So, we can take the fat and it doesn’t get hard or form a capsule the way that implants can. It has a much more natural look and feel because most of the breasts is fat naturally. So, when we put fat back in it feels and looks natural. And it’s becoming one of the most popular areas of fat transfer because people don’t wanna have a poor body. Host: Okay, so that’s the most popular. What would you say takes the cake for the most popular fat transfer? Dr. J: Well most probably the most popular fat transfer would be to the buttocks, where we call it the Brazilian butt lift. And we can take fat from especially the love handles which makes it a gray area because we can narrow the top of the buttocks and at the same time we’re rounding out the buttocks so we get that inverted heart look. And we’ve actually got a really nice package where we can do the love handles or back and transfer that fat to the buttocks and give you a nice result and a good price for that as well. Host: You’re actually using a naturally substance to promote fat cell survival when you are doing this. Dr. J: There are a couple things, we can add platelet rich plasma, or PRP which we draw some blood.
