A/Captain James Reifschneider will provide detailed information on the Palo Alto Police Department’s Use of Force policy, including recent changes proactively made to it within the past month. He will discuss applicable use of force law, training given to our personnel, different force options available to our officers, detailed statistical information on PAPD use of force incidents dating back five years, facts about how use of force investigations are conducted by police supervisors, and the administrative review process to ensure accountability.
