A set of uncoupled Lego pendulums, monotonically decreasing in length, display patterns that alternately look like traveling waves, standing waves, and chaos. The lengths of the pendulums are adjusted so that their oscillation completes an integer number of cycles in 60 seconds. Each successive shorter pendulum completes one additional oscillation in the same time interval.
