A step-by-step guide to hitching a trailer! This process gets easier with practice, but the important thing to remember is to take your time. If you have someone to help you it will be much easier. A note on the breakaway cable: Some towbars have a designated attachment point. If your car has this, either pass the cable through the attachment point and clip it back on itself, or if permitted by the trailer manufacturer, attach the clip directly to the designated point.
