This is on a 2008 Ford Escape and the other years should be very similar on how to fill the cooling system. This should work on 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder Escapes. Fill the cooling system through the hose that connects to the top of the expansion tank with a funnel with the car off. Be sure to squeeze the upper hose alot to purge the air. This could easily take a half hour. Once full, start the car to be sure it doesn't overheat. Empty it should hold 2.5 gallons.
