Despite playing 10 minutes less than the record setter Dale Ellis, Alvin Robertson might have expended the most energy in this historical game. The man was the first or second option on offense (depending on whether Ricky Pierce was in the game or already fouled out), guarded Dale Ellis on the other end and played freaking 59 minutes. It's unthinkable how many possessions he affected. A seemingly amazing play -- which I don't have -- is him chasing down Dale Ellis on a breakaway to reject his layup. It happened in the freaking fourth overtime. This game also showcases how he is one of the guys who racks up steals and does so by a being a great defensive player (not a gambler or empty steal getter). The scorers' table could have found him a way to 10 steals here, though, some seem to be (and, perhaps, rightfully so) counted as blocks or rebounds. November 9, 1989.
