📌Ever wonder what happens to your chest muscle after implants — and what changes when they come out? 📌The pectoralis major muscle is often released off the sternum and the fold of the breast when an implant is placed under the muscle. This allows the muscle to release to accommodate a breast implant under it. What happens is the muscle is no longer anchored and it is still working on the arm. So it shortens or “window shades” higher. 📌When the explant is done most of the time I’m directly on the implant and just follow it under the muscle. So I’m not actually cutting through any muscle for the explant.
