Part 5 of a five part series on the "state of the art" of San Francisco Bay Area radio in 1980. Features many legendary San Francisco radio personalities, including "Big" Tom Parker, Tony Kilbert, JJ Jeffries, Larry Cooper and more. (And incidently, at :27 and 03:36 in, there's a "baby" Melissa McConnell who'd just started at KYA FM & AM in San Francisco, and happened to be on the air the day KPIX brought the film crew!) Given the current status of Radio, it's mind-blowing to hear Dave McElhatton's prophetic words about technology and people in the Radio business. This is truly a "time capsule"... I have the other segments (and thanks to Steve Garland for this one!) and will post as soon as opportunity allows.
