Did you know Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system? Even hotter than Mercury, despite being further from the Sun! Its surface temperature can reach a scorching 900 degrees Fahrenheit or 482 degrees Celsius. Venus has a thick atmosphere, made mostly of carbon dioxide. This atmosphere creates a runaway greenhouse effect. The pressure on Venus is about 92 times that of Earth. It’s like being deep underwater! Venus rotates very slowly on its axis, taking about 243 Earth days to complete one rotation. But it orbits the Sun in just 225 Earth days. That means a day on Venus is longer than a year! And here’s a fun fact: Venus spins in the opposite direction to most planets. This means the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east on Venus. Venus is often called Earth's' sister planet' due to their similar size and composition. But don’t be fooled, it’s a harsh environment with no water and extreme heat. So, what do you think about our fiery neighbor? #space #venus #cosmicexploration #spaceexploration
