I use what I believe to be the simplest and most logical method for programming your Taranis X9D, X9D+, X9D+ SE or X9D Plus 2019 Transmitter or similar remote control transmitter to use 2 switches for controlling six flight modes. This concept will work on any OpenTX based transmitter, though the exact method may be different. This method takes your native analog switch positions as inputs into the Taranis. Switch combinations are defined as logical switches before a special function outputs exactly the right pwm for the flight controller. Everything is taken care of using a very simple combination of inputs, logical switches, and special functions, then outputs pwm values onto channel 5. Thsi is done using OpenTX Companion 2.3.2 I verify it working using Yaapu telemetry script for verification that the flight modes are changing. Credit to Painless360 for the idea; and for the separation of switches to enable 6 flight modes from just two switches; one two position and one three position. This method builds on what he shows: • OpenTX Tip: 6 Positions from 2 switches but does not involve setting weights or offsets, and does not involve using calculations and curves. I believe this method uses as little resources as possible, better keeping channel activity clear for other data chains.
