Amiga Format Coverdisk 33a: Vista

Today I am having a look at Amiga Format Coverdisk 33a, the brilliant terraforming software Vista from Virtual Reality Labs. The incredible application let you render stills and even animation sequences of virtually generated terrains. You could base it on virtual data seeded from special mountain like fractals, or from real world data collected by geographical services and saved into Vista's Dem format files. For me Vista appearing on Amiga Format was one of the great enabling events of computer history. It put something in the hands of anyone with a 1 meg Amiga 500 that would have normally have been reserved for those who had spent thousands on graphic workstations and software. The Amiga really was one of the greatest levelers in graphics production. I wonder how many people started their careers in graphics with this coverdisk. This was originally meant to be a video covering both 33a and 33b (including a demo of Myth and some public domain games), but the first part did not record properly and I thought I would just split it as it probably works better that way anyway.
