(11 Nov 2015) Thousands of people marched through the Afghan capital Kabul on Wednesday, in protest against the killing of seven ethnic minority Hazaras, allegedly by the Taliban. Protesters, holding banners with photos of the victims, which included a nine-year-old girl, rallied outside the Presidential Palace and called for a new government that could ensure the security of the country. They carried the green-draped coffins of some of the victims as they marched. The protesters chanted "Death to the Taliban" and called on President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah to resign. The seven victims - four men, two women and a child were found partially beheaded on Saturday in the southeastern province of Zabul, according to officials. They had been kidnapped in neighbouring Ghazni province up to six months earlier. Afghanistan's spy agency dismissed Taliban claims that affiliates of the Islamic State group were behind the killings. In the past five days, rival Taliban groups have been fighting each other in the region where the bodies were found. The bodies of the seven victims were brought the 380 kilometres (240 miles) to Kabul from Zabul on Tuesday.
