National Cycle Route 49 7pm ride up to Goytre wharf - the first sunny day in a long time. The Fatbike is full suspension frame 4.8" Jumbo Jims running at 12psi - super smooth ride! The canal is maintained really well - thanks to the huge efforts by all the volunteers. A lot of the grass on the paths had been freshly cut - smelt and felt like summer after weeks of overcast weather - good times! Great day - everyone seemed really happy to be outside in the fine weather. First time using a Gopro Hero 11 Black. Used Hyperview mode, so it looks a lot faster than it really was, avg speed 12mph. Really messed up the Auto Exposure, didn't lock it to anything - so it was way to dark and pumping the brightness wildly - basically unusable. But I managed to salvage the video using reapers Video Processor. Gopro was in 10bit mode - so not that much was lost to crushing or clamping. I wrote a script to evaluate the luma level on the path (using a rectangle area) and then adjust the brightness based on that - I fade that adjustment off vertically so I don't blow out the sky and clouds details - worked quit well (some overblow in the lower region) - had some problems clipping CrCb because I changed the saturation - occasionally leaves turned blue and red cars flash green. Production Times: 2hr record time 1hr faffing about joining and file management 2 days fixing Auto Exposure 20 hours uploading (125gb) 4 hours YouTube processing time
