The procedure shown in this tutorial is just another option you can try to "refresh" your car's ECU. It is always recommended to use an OBD 2 scanner if available for a more comprehensive diagnosis. Different factors can cause issues in your car and sometimes a simple reset can fix minor problems. If you don't have an OBD 2 scanner, you can try this to see if it fixes the issue. NOTE: Usually issues can be resolved by just performing "STEP 1." In cases where "Step 1" did not help, repeat "Step 1" but this time proceed to "STEP 2" and see if it resolves the problem. If your car has an automatic transmission, you can still use STEP 1 (which is disconnecting the battery cables and touching them together for 10 minutes) to refresh the ECU, but instead of proceeding to STEP 2 as described in this video, you can drive around at different speeds (slow to fast) with A/C "on" to help the ECU relearn the various shift points of the automatic transmission. The car may run a little rough while the ECU is relearning but continue driving around for a few kilometers and the car will eventually run better once the relearning process is completed.
