Obesity is a modern problem for many pet owners. Spayed or neutered animals are often predisposed to excess weight gain, which increases the risk for diseases like diabetes. That’s why it’s important to look at early-age nutritional interventions to make sure pets maintain a healthy weight. Prof. Adronie Verbrugghe, Royal Canin Veterinary Diets Endowed Chair in Canine and Feline Clinical Nutrition in the Department of Clinical Studies, does extensive research with nutrition to minimize the risk of feline and canine obesity.
