Tevin Campbell finally wins his first ever music award at the '94 Soul Train Awards. 3 years earlier at the '91 Grammys, Tevin was nominated for "Best R&B Vocal Performance (Male)" for his song "Round And Round", but Luther Vandross won the award for his song "Here And Now". At the '93 American Music Awards, Tevin was nominated for "Favorite R&B Male Artist" (along with Gerald LeVert, Michael Jackson & Bobby Brown) but Bobby Brown won that award. At the '93 Soul Train Awards Show, Tevin was nominated in the category of "Best R&B Album (Male)" for his 1991 debut album "T.E.V.I.N." (along with Brian McKnight, Bobby Brown & Michael Jackson) but Michael Jackson won that award for MJ's 1991 album "Dangerous". So Tevin was 0 for 3 for winning awards going into the '94 Soul Train Awards. At those '94 Soul Train Awards, Tevin received 2 nominations: (1) "R&B Album of the Year Male" (Babyface won for his album "For The Cool In You), and (2) "Best R&B Single Male" (Tevin's single "Can We Talk" was up against Babyface's "Never Keeping Secrets", Dr. Dre's "Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang" and Luther Vandross' single "Heaven Knows"). Tevin won that award, so the single "Can We Talk" won Tevin his first music award. The 8th Annual Soul Train Music Awards aired on March 15, 1994.
