The delay is attributed to recalibrated milestones and an adjusted development process. Designed to replace the aging Sea Harrier fleet and complement the MiG-29K, the TEDBF will enhance the Navy’s operational capabilities with improved performance and survivability. Key program milestones include Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) clearance by 2026 and a first flight projected for 2029-2030. The delays stem from design refinements, system integration, and rigorous testing for carrier operations.
