Joel at Earth Tools shows how to swap the forward & reverse cable positions on a BCS 770 or 779 walking tractor, to convert the forward/reverse lever on the machine to a "normally mowing/Front-PTO" orientation. NOTES: #1. Joel mentions in the video that this swap also works on the model 660, but since the 660 is a "front-PTO ONLY" tractor, you would never want to do this cable swap on that model. #2. One thing Joel forgot is that after adjusting the cables to get the travel correct, you want to then TURN THE HANDLEBARS AROUND to the opposite mode, and then perform the "travel" check again...since the cable tension changes somewhat depending on handlebar orientation and the subsequent "flexing" of the cables, the adjustments will likely come out a little different. If you want the "most accuracy" for both handlebar positions, you will want to essentially "split the difference" between the cable adjustments in both positions. (If you are PRIMARILY doing "front-PTO" applications with the machine, you may choose to make the adjustments "100% accurate" for that handlebar position and just live with it being slightly off for the rear-PTO handlebar position.)
