Here are some of the best restaurants in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The city of Tuscaloosa is about an hour west of Birmingham and is home to the University of Alabama. The downtown area has a lot of different shops and restaurants as well as a nice park system along the Black Warrior River. I head out to three restaurants in downtown Tuscaloosa as well as one just outside of town. 1. Avenue Pub - Avenue Pub is a restaurant which offers a lot of great pub grub with plenty of TVs inside. I head inside to enjoy a delicious burger with some fries. 2. Archibald & Woodrow's BBQ - Located south of downtown Tuscaloosa, Archibald & Woodrow's BBQ is a local barbecue restaurant with some great barbecued meats. I head inside to have some tasty pulled pork. 3. DePalma's Italian Cafe - Located in downtown Tuscaloosa, DePalma's is a highly-rated Italian restaurant with a lot of great Italian classics especially the pasta. I head inside to have some freshly made pasta. 4. Urban Bar & Kitchen - Located almost across the street from DePalma's is Urban Bar & Kitchen where they have a lot of great food including some great Southern dishes.
