Avoid This Hilarious Tuk Tuk Scam in Thailand 🇹🇭 It's important for travellers to be aware of the potential Tuk Tuk scams in Phuket, Thailand. During my recent visit to the area, I had an interesting and somewhat comical experience that highlights the issue. While I enjoy using Tuk Tuks to travel around Phuket, it's not as straightforward as simply stating your desired destination. Instead, the drivers often try to take you to multiple locations along the way so they can earn commissions. This is where the scam comes in, and it's important to be cautious. During my ride, the Tuk Tuk driver took me to several locations before reaching my final destination. We visited the Big Buddha, had a delicious Thai lunch, went to a shooting range to try a Western-style revolver gun, and then stopped at a high-end jewelry store. I pretended to be shopping for an engagement ring. After the jewelry store, we finally arrived at Monkey Hill View Point, where the local monkeys were quick to make their presence known. At this point, I thought we were on our way back to my hotel, but the driver made another unexpected stop at a full-service adult massage parlor. I declined the invitation to partake in their services and made my way back to my hotel. While my experience was amusing, it does highlight the potential Tuk Tuk scam that tourists can encounter in Phuket.
