Just me, director Alex Lorge, and my friend M - fresh off a bottle of absinthe, howling like a coyote all night. By dawn he was wrecked, but we dragged him into the desert anyway. My white kurta was glowing in the sun, M was crashing… until he decided to grab a .22 caliber air rifle and write himself into the role of a Sergio Leone-style villain sniping me. A park ranger spotted us up on a cliff, and between M’s gun and my garb he thought we were terrorists. He kept us standing in the blazing sun for an hour while he searched our campsite for weapons and drugs. No one spoke for months after. The footage sat on a hard drive for 15 years - part myth, part misadventure - until now. VOIDIST Records is re-releasing Strange Hexes.
