TIMF ACADEMY 2011 Section: Orchestra

TIMF Academy is an educational program of Tongyeong International Music Festival. It was incepted in 2005 on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the death of Isang Yun, an internationally acclaimed Korean composer. It began with Ensemble Modern, a world renowned German Contemporary Music ensemble, and has been selecting talented musicians from Korea and Asia, who fulfill a wide variety of curriculum under the guidance of superb faculties from in and outside Korea and for the last five years. The academy has increased its reputation as the best music education program in Korea by hosting it in many fields in Tongyeong, Gyeongnam Province, Bangkok, Thailand, and Paris, France. TIMF Academy 2011 met talented young musicians under instructions by Alexander Liebreich, who serves as artistic director of Tongyeong International Music Festival and chief conductor of the Munich Chamber Orchestra and excellent faculties from Ensemble TIMF. It was held from July 4 to July 9, 2011, and was composed of an orchestra and the various programs including Sectional, Chamber music and Concerts in one of the most beautiful seaport towns in Korea, Tongyeong.
