Phoebe’s family was immediately alarmed by strange messages she had sent the day before, but even more disturbed by the evidence inside her apartment. And then there’s the trash chute itself: a narrow hatch 14 inches by 8 inches, three feet off the ground, an opening nearly impossible for a person to enter voluntarily. No fingerprints were found.
