We all know the plot of Skyrim - but you might not have known that the original version of the story was very different. Skyrim was originally intended to have a different villain altogether - a terrifying, truly formidable opponent who would have been more than a match for the Last Dragonborn. The original villain was none other than Uriel Septim V - the Emperor of Tamriel who disappeared during an ill-fated invasion of Akavir more than 400 years ago. In this early version of the story, Uriel returns as an immortal Dragonborn Emperor, leading an army of Dragons out of Akavir in an invasion of Tamriel. But who was Uriel Septim V? How did he end up in Akavir? Why did he disappear? And what would Skyrim have looked like if he was kept as the antagonist? Well, settle in as we answer all these questions and more.
